Weekend Edition of Halloween and Fall Ongoings for Families with Children Ages 0-6

We’ve got a full lineup of events this weekend, so we’re doing things a little differently and highlighting those in this week’s newsletter! 🍁 For the full list of storytimes and weekly happenings, be sure to check the calendar — most are the same as usual! Below we’ll be spotlighting the most seasonal, fall, Halloween-fun happenings around town. Here we go! 🎃
Friday, October 24

Tiny Tots Creepy Crawl, 10 AM - 12 PM in The Village
Join MoCo Mom for our first-ever Creepy Crawl through downtown Pinehurst! Kids will collect treats and make crafts as we explore local stops throughout the village! This event is designed with ages 0–6 in mind, but all are welcome to join the fun!

The Big Boo Bash Drop-Off, 3-5 PM @ VirtoKids
Drop off the kiddos (ages 2.5–10 years) for two hours of fun! Space is limited, so save your spot early! 2 hours @ $20.00.

BooFest (Ages 12 & Under), 5-7:30 PM in Downtown Southern Pines
Trick-or-treat at the local downtown businesses in Southern Pines at 5pm, then join us at the Downtown Park at 5:30pm for Halloween theme games, crafts, activities, and best dog costume raffle. Stay afterwards for a magic show from 7-7:30pm.

Trick-or-Treat Chill Zone, 5-7:30 PM @ The Connection Corner
Come take a break with us during Downtown Southern Pines Trick-or-Treat! Enjoy a sensory-friendly space with building, art, yoga, books, and sensory play—away from the crowds, but still part of the fun!

Parents’ Night Out: Kids’ Pumpkin Decorating Party, 5:30-8:30 PM @ MyGym Sandhills
This will be run like a Parents’ Night Out but adding some pumpkin decorating to the agenda! For children ages 3-10 years (must be potty trained). Cost: $60 (siblings discount applies). Book at mygym.com/sandhills/events
Saturday, October 25

Boo At The Zoo, 9 AM - 3 PM @ North Carolina Zoo
Dress up your little ones to enter fun costume contests, enjoy trick or treating along the Africa loop, and have a howling good time with festive games in the Africa Ampitheatre.

Festival D’Avion, 10 AM - 5 PM @ Moore County Airport
The Festival D’Avion features classic and military aircraft displays, flyovers, precision jump teams, sightseeing tours, classic car displays, a “Junior Pilot” KidsZone, local vendors, food and beverage options — it’s the largest Halloween Candy giveaway in Moore County and fun for the entire family!

Fall-O-Ween, 11 AM - 2 PM @ Malcom Blue Farm
Join us at the Malcolm Blue Farm for fun carnival games, inflatables, pony rides, a climbing wall, and more! There will be food & treat vendors on site. We encourage everyone to wear their best costume! This event is for children ages 15 and under.

Oktoberfest, 4-9 PM @ The Village of Pinehurst
Oktoberfest returns to Tufts Memorial Park this October. The evening kicks off with Kinderfest from 4:00pm - 6:00pm, a fun festival for children and families to enjoy. There will be music, crafts, a bubble artist and Halloween fun!
Sunday, October 26

Dress up your little ones to enter fun costume contests, enjoy trick or treating along the Africa loop, and have a howling good time with festive games in the Africa Ampitheatre.

Sandhills Trolley Co Pumpkin Patch Cruise, 9 AM to White Hill Farm
Hop aboard the Sandhills Trolley Co & ride to our favorite pumpkin patches in MoCo! Expect hayrides, corn mazes, treats, favors & more (especially pumpkins!). $40/ticket.

Community in the Courtyard, 11 AM - 2 PM @ The Connection Corner
Join this FREE event filled with child-led fun and community connections! Kids can enjoy face painting, rock painting, arts & crafts, and sensory play while parents explore local resources and mingle with teachers, therapists, and more.

Trick-or-Treat Trail, 2-4 PM @ Sandhills Nature Preserve
Come in costume any time between 2pm-4pm to enjoy a family-friendly (non-scary) Halloween-themed nature trail, learn about the "spooky" critters of Weymouth Woods, and get some treats along the way.
General Updates:
We’ve started gathering important registration windows for Moore County preschools, pre-K, and Mommy’s Morning Out programs — and we’ll keep adding as more schools release their info! If you’re planning ahead for next year, this is the list to watch. 👀✨
My Gym Sandhills has three spots left for their Preschool Prep Program Mon-Wed from 9 AM - 12 PM for those 3 and up. Expect a super active curriculum alongside fun experiments like these!
